Baby Love

Who could resist an adorable kitten?

The most squee-able event, Baby Love, is happening at the Tabby Cat Club and we just had to pawticipate!  So today we are showing off our baby pictures!

 First up is Oui Oui.

You can see her shaved little belly.
Even at 8 weeks they made sure she wouldn't add to overpopulation.
Either she was a messy eater or she ran through her kibble.

Both she and The Girl were kittens!

Julie and Carl are brother and sister, so of course they were kittens together too.

Julie was just as beautiful then too!

Mica Moo was 4 years old when she came to live with us.

These are the earliest pictures we have of her.
She looked like a young cat because she was underweight,
weighing a little over 7 lbs.
Now she is more like 13.

For more adorable kittens, go visit the Tabby Cat Club!
There's gonna be a whole lot of squeeing going on!

We'd also like to thank everyone for their kind purrs for the mom.  She is still whining and moaning, even with us doing the best we can to help her feel better.  Yesterday she went to the doctor's who told her it could be several more weeks before the swelling has gone away.  Boy did THAT make her moan!

We apologize for not visiting, by the time the mom gets home from work, she is in so much pain she doesn't feel like doing much and certainly couldn't think of snappy comments for everyone.  {{eye roll}}  She is still taking care of the ferals, but that will end next week since the lady she is covering for is out of the hospital.  This Sunday she hopes to trap the kitties who have all their God-given parts.  Thankfully The Girl will be coming home to help because the mom doesn't think she could do it on her own in her present condition.  We hope to have some good photos!

We'll be up to visiting soon.  We hope everyone has been well and having fun. Purrs and thanks to you all!

Offline For a Couple Days

Kitties, we are going to be taking a short break.  Someone locked the gate where the feral cats the mom has been taking care of live.  She walked around the fence and found a way back to the cats.  It involved a tricky embankment, brambles, vines and broken bottles.  Then she lost her footing, and fell on a rock.

This is the result.  (The sheets were washed and we were going to help the mom make the bed after she was back from visiting the ferals.  That didn't happen for obvious reasons.)

That big bump isn't her knee!

We are purring for our mom.  Maybe you have a couple purrs to spare?  And yes, she is still feeding the ferals.

Oui Oui's Big Adventure

Did you see this?
Moosey's dad made this cool poster for me!
Do you remember the movie Pee Wee's Big Adventure?
Well, this is Oui Oui's Big Adventure!
Who knows where my adventure will take me . . .

We kitties have been talking and decided
we are going to chip all our allowances in
and give a full $100 to the PAWS kitties
for the Catification Project, The Habitat for Cats,
because we really want the PAWS kitties to have a great place to hang out.

Thanks, PAWS kitties!
Next year I hope all of you will be celebrating your Gotcha Day too!
Moosey, Gracie & Zoe, I see you in there!

Thanks once again to all the kitties who posted and commented.
You are fabulous!

Now I am off to my big adventure!

(I am going to gloss over that the mom will AGAIN be out of town this weekend, so we are wishing you a great weekend a little early.  Stay safe and enjoy!
Anyone up for a house trashing party?)

Big Results!

Kitties, we want to say a BIG thank you!
We were hoping you would come through for us
to help make the world a little better place
for the kitties at PAWS.
And you did!

There were 30 posts at the Tabby Cat Club!
I can't remember there ever being that many posts before!
Thank you everyone, you took the time out of your day
to write a post to help the less fortunate.
It brings tears to our mom's eyes.

We had 60 comments here.
A couple kitties were late, we know,
it's hard to blog on the weekends and kitties went out of
their way to do it.
We also know of 4 comments that were left
elsewhere or people tried to comment and had problems.
So we will count those too, bringing the total to 64.

At $1 a post and 25 cents a comment, that is $46.
As a bonus we are going to count the comments left at our post
at the TCC, there were 32, so that is another $8!
A total of $54!

Best yet, Brian came forward and said he would match what we raised.
We all know how kind Brian is, how caring, how
involved in doing everything he can
to insure every kitty has a loving home.
Thank you, Brian, there wouldn't homeless animals
or abuse if everyone was as good as you!

We hope this goes a little way to making the kitties comfortable
in a cage free, stimulating environment
during their "Catification Project",
the Habitat for Cats.
Again, thank you!
Headbonks!

The Day After . . .

What a day our Gotcha Day was!  We want to thank all the kitties who  posted at the Tabby Cat Club and all the ones who commented here to help we raise money to improve the lives of the kitties at PAWS.  Because we wanted to give the maximum time to everyone, we will publish the results tomorrow.  Again, thanks every kitty!  You are pawsome!

Happy Gotcha Day Oui Oui and Mica Minnie Moo!

Happy Gotcha Day, Oui Oui & Mica Minnie Moo!
Here's to our two sweet girls who add so much charm and fun to our lives!
We love you both!

8 years ago, Oui Oui was the last of her litter, the little kitten
no one else wanted, crying and ignored until the mom picked her up
and decided to take her home.

4 years ago, Mica Moo was the new playmate for Oui Oui
when The Girl went off to collich.

Oui Oui sees Mica Moo for the first time.

We are so glad you stopped by to join us,
come help us celebrate!
We hope you have fun,
we have all our favorite things out!

We've got a box, just for you!
And there's paper inside to make it comfy.

Help yourself to a delightful drink.

And we have plenty of snacks.

Some we even made ourselves!

Little egg peeps.

We "borrowed" a quiche the mom made
with bacon and cheese.
You'll hafta pick out the mushrooms.
(Our apologies.)

And plenty of nip!

Leave room for the cake!

We've collected all our favorite toys
for you to play with.

You don't mind if we get this party started, do you?

Today, we are having a Comment-A-Thon here at TwinkletoeTails, so if you are visiting don't forget to leave a comment.  You don't have to have a blog to leave one, but we ask just one comment per blog or purrson.  For each comment we will donate 25 cents to PAWS, the rescue whose kitties are featured at Animal Shelter Volunteer Life with Moosey, Gracie, Zoey and also Shelter Cats with Tommie and Mickey Mouser.

PAWS has a brand new program, Habitat for Cats, to enrich the lives of the shelter kitties in a stimulating cage free environment while they await their new homes and our donation will go to help start the program.  We hope this benefit helps the kitties have an exciting, fun place to live while they wait for their families to find them.

We are also hosting a first ever Post-A-Thon at the Tabby Cat Club, also to benefit PAWS!  Please stop by to see all your favorite tabbies having fun!  For each post, we are donating $1, up to $100, so if you are a member, be sure to post there today.  (One post per blog please.)

Thank you so much for visiting and sharing in our fun and joy!  We hope you enjoyed yourself!  And thanks for making this benefit a success!

Feral Friday

In our town, there are many feral cat colonies.  When the economy tanked people could not afford their homes and they left their cats behind when they moved.

This week the caretaker of a colony near the mom's work was hospitalized unexpectedly, and for an indefinite period of time.  The mom volunteered to help and is taking care of them in the evenings.

This pretty little silver kitty was the first one the mom saw.

The next day she was surprised to see not one
but three silver kitties.
Look at that face!  OMC!
It reminds the mom of her first cat, Leia.

There are five kitties in this picture.
Can you find them?
It's a little eerie knowing there are a dozen sets of eyes watching you
yet you don't see any of them,
you just know they are there.

I've circled the third silver kitty and one of two all black ones.
They are all so shy, grabbing a mouth full of food and
running back into the under growth to eat.

Although this colony was TNR'ed
some of the cats look like they don't have clipped ears.
Perhaps they are newbies or maybe the entire colony wasn't caught.
Time for the binoculars!
And maybe the traps.

The mom's first cats, Attila (L) and Leia (R).

We wish everyone a great weekend!  Sunday is Oui Oui's & Mica Minnie Moo's Gotcha Day, so stop on by!  We are having a Comment-A-Thon here and a Post-A-Thon at the Tabby Cat Club to benefit PAWS, the shelter featured in Animal Shelter Volunteer Life with Moosey, Gracie, Zoe, meowmeowmans and Tracey.

Tortie Tabby Tuesday

Pssst, Oui Oui!
We are channeling good vibes to all our furriends.

 You gotta use both paws.

No, BOTH paws, like this!

That's two paws, Oui Oui.

Now you got it!
And concentrate hard!

Best wishes, everyone!
