REVEILLE

We kitties thought with the weekend coming up, we would share some of our special ways of waking the mom.  We know all kitties have their own techniques, but it doesn't hurt to mix it up a little to keep the beans off balance.  We've included some tactics used by a couple of the Kitties Who Came Before.

Oui Oui:  I prefer running through the tunnel that makes crinkly sounds.  If that doesn't work, I dig in our adopted Mr. Chewy box or shred paper.
Mica Minnie Moo:  I jump on the mom.
If its a nice day, I'll run across her a few times.

Carl:  Sing it, baby!  And sing it loud!
Julie:  Purr as loud as you can.

Attila:  Bite the tip of her nose.
If that doesn't work,
very gently claw her eye lids with the very tippy tips of your razor sharp claws.
That ALWAYS works.
Quickly.

Minnie Pumpkin:  If you can, use her back as a punching bag.  Go to town with both paws and give it everything you have.  If you don't feel like all that exercise, pull her hair.  Grab a good chunk in your teeth & heave!

Kimba:  Stare.
It may take a while but it works eventually,
and it creeps them out too!

We hope we gave you some good ideas.  Now everyone up early tomorrow and get creative!  Purrs, and enjoy your weekend!

We think these our great! Have you tried bomit? Our Mommy can hear one of us bomit all the way across the house and it always brings her running!

Wow, you got lots of ideas! This morning Star accomplished this task by sitting on my back and scratching for five minutes..... non stop..

I don't bother with the wake-up tactics - I leave that to Binga while I sleep in late!

Wow, we were only doing about half of those. Thanks for the tips! Check out our giveaway if you get time: http://threecountrycats.blogspot.com/2012/09/giveaway-yeowww-stinkies-catnip-toys.html

We aren't allowed to sleep with Mommy (unless Daddy happens to be away) so we can only do 2 things. Sing loudly from outside the door, or Ling's specialty : cry and whine while scratching the door.

Lots of good ideas there. Kizzie doesn't need to wake the humans up, the little bean does it for her. Also she sleeps in the conservatory at night so has limited options for waking anyone up. She only has a quiet meiow.

Those are some mighty fine ways to wake the Mom. We have written them down and will give them a try. Mom was right, we love Minnie Pumpkin. She was so cute. Hope all of you have a great week end too.

We think all of those ideas are great. Hannah always stands on mum's boobs which usually brings a loud response!

Thank you for all the good Wake-Up-Mom-Tactics :)
Tomorrow I guess it´s going to be mom that wakes me up because we shall drive really early to a Catshow in Gothenburg.

When I think of reveille, I think of horns blowing. Now, all of those techniques are preferable to horns to my human, all except the pulling of the hair, and that's what I do. Oh, let me add, pawing at a closet door to be let in always works, too.

Uh-oh. I don't think your mom would appreciate additional ideas!

"Sing it and sing it loud" is one of my purrsonal faves too!! And....jumping on Daddy's head since he is the one who serves breakfast.

Those are all very good ways to get the hoomins up. My cats mix it up, too -- they usually alternate between finding things that make annoying noises, and jumping on my body like a trampoline.

Hi! I know it's been a long time and I sure have missed you guys! These are some great ideas! I'm with Carl. I sing loudly off and on all throughout the night. Mama hasn't had a good night's sleep all year!

Coolio! I can change up my style. Xxo

GLOGIRLY said...

You could write a book on all those ideas!
I've just plain given up on Glogirly. Sometimes she's up early, sometimes late...I never know what I'm in for.

If I get desperate though, I bang the rubber and spring door thingy. That always yields some attention.

Our gang says they've employed all those techniques at some point in the past. But the funny thing is that Jen has NO problems waking up early on the weekend... it's her days off that she wants to sleep in on!

wow! great ideas. i will try some. on those awful nights when I'm stuck inside, instead of prowling and hunting all night like I ought to be doing, I have tried to be polite and let them sleep in until 4:00 am and then get into their snore-y faces to tell them 'enough is enough, get up already!' But that never works. sometimes i try to let myself out by chewing a hole in the window screen. that works sometimes, but sometimes shoes start flying. i didn't know shoes were nocturnal, did you?

I would NEFUR do any of those things to wake my poor Human. I am a good Boy.

Besides, I like her best asleep.

I so have to try some of these more unique ways of waking Mom. Especially as Mom getting used to mine technique and taking a while to get up.

John Bellen said...

All excellent methods. Mica Minnie Moo and my Josie must have had the same inspiration - or training. And staring not only wakes people, eventually, but gives them bad dreams until they do.

Donna said...

I like to stand on my back paws and hit the side of the bed with my front paws. That gets Mom's attention really quickly. :)

Kat said...

Wow! Thanks for all those purr-fect methods you shared with us!
We will have to try all of your methods soon! ;) PS the "stare" method is an all-time fav for Traveler MOL

Kat said...

(it really does creep the humans out when you stare at them long enough.) MOL
