MANY THANKS & OUR BLOGOVERSARY

I wanted to thank all our wonderful blogging friends for their sweet and heart felt condolences.  Everyone has just been amazing.  And I appreciate the prayers, words of comfort and time everyone shared with us.  Ann's graphic and Gracie's tribute and the kind remembrances of friends have been truly touching.  Thank you, dear friends.

Yesterday we laid my mother to rest.  Now we begin the difficult part of living our lives without her.  I try not to think that she will never again turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary one through a generous or thoughtful gesture.  Or be there with wise advice, or pull another practical joke.

On a brighter note, August 13th is our First Blogoversary.  I can't believe all the kind and wonderful people I've met this past year.  I had no idea there was a community of cat bloggers with events they shared and celebrated.  What a wonderful surprise!

I love reading about the daily antics of your cats, and love that its truly global.  I worry about your cats when they are sick and cry when they pass on.  And of course, I worry and cry about their humans too.  I don't know too many people (in person) who would never tire of hearing about my cats, or who would not roll their eyes over having to look at more pictures.

Here is our first post.  Since that time we have had over 21,500 page views, 4500 comments, visitors from 90 countries and 74 followers.  This is our 271st post.  Who would have thought!  Certainly, not I.  I never really gave any thought to where this blog would go.  I've never taken a writing class, and knowing I'm not a gifted writer by any means, I work hard so its passable.  If you are mildly entertained or find it somewhat amusing, I am happy.

August 13th is also my birthday.  I love that both my blog and I are Leos.  It seems apropos.  My little lions are here purring their assent and contentment.  I was going to do a "mom" drawing with mom goodies to celebrate but, unfortunately, that will have to wait.

Again, thanks for all your support!  God bless you.  I'll be visiting everyone, but it might take a couple days, there were so many condolences!  The kitties are sending kitty kisses and purrs your way.  Are your windows rattling?  That's their purrs.

Hugs & kisses,
Paula

Mothers' love never goes away. And neither do good memories. I lost my mom years ago, and still remember all the family times we had. Lots of good memories are lovely.
Have a beautiful birthday, and concatulations on your blogoversary. We love reading your blog, and love our ever growing cat and cat-lover community.

This is so lovely to read. You clearly feel about your Mom the way I felt about mine--these days it seems so many people I know have or had complaints and conflicts with their mothers that I am really happy to hear someone talk about their mom with such love and respect and joy. Maybe it really is a rare thing!

Happy birthday and happy blogoversary! Spitty and I send our best thoughts and purrs to all of you!

Today is quite a day for your! Happy birthday and happy blogoversary! My human did not have a good relationship with her mother at ALL, and had to keep it very superficial for her own protection, so even though you are missing yours lots, know that at least she was an awesome person and you two had a great relationship that you will always treasure and grow from.

Yes, the time between a loved one's passing and the funeral, it seems like everything moves in slow motion -- almost like it's another world. We hope the memories of your Mom will give you comfort in the days to come.

Happy Birthday and Happy Blogoversary to you! It must feel like a strange juxtaposition with recent events, but I'm sure your would want you to enjoy your special day -- especially since it is so very significant.

I can only imagine how difficult yesterday was. I still miss my dad, who passed away 8 1/2 years ago. But I continue to see the ways in which he influenced my life and my world view, and that is a blessing. I KNOW, from what you've shared about your mom that she will continue to live in your hearts. And that her influence and love will not end.

Happy blogoversary to you all, and happy birthday to you, Paula!

We are so fortunate to be your friends, and are ever grateful that you began blogging one year ago.

Hugs, prayers and purrs.

We have had you in our hearts the past few days, knowing how difficult this time must be. Your Mom would be so proud of you, she raised a very fine lady. You are her legacy, and so you will carry her within your heart forever. She would want you to continue in happiness and we hope that with your birthday you find some joys to help ease your sorrow.

We are so glad you are our friend. And brandi is right...your mom's love will never leave your side. I lost my mom 25 years ago and have now lived more years without her than with her. But she's with me all the time and I don't cry anymore when I think of her. I just smile really big.
