Poor Mom

I am thinking hard which of the mom's silly things I should tell you about.  When she writes and puts the pen down, in the flash of an eye, the pen is lost!  She can't find it, she hasn't moved, but where did it go?  Ok, this happens enough to be common place.

A couple months ago she noticed kitties were wishing Julie and Carl a Happy Gotcha day, and the mom was, "Huh?  What's this?"  Totally clueless!  Kitties from around the world remembered, but not her.  Ok, we all know she doesn't remember like she used to.

But maybe the funniest happened earlier this year.  The furnace conked out and an introoder came to fix it.  Being smart kitties, we scattered.  After he left, kitties started showing up, one by one.  All except for me.  Hours later, she started searching but I didn't answer.  She walked right past me several times.  I didn't let on.  Why ruin a good hiding place?

Finally, even though she was fairly sure she had been careful and I was inside the house, she went outside to call me.  With all the neighbors out, she starting calling, "Mew, mew, Oui Oui!"  (There's no "Here kitty, kitty" in our house!)

Naturally, most of the neighbors were outside, not at a restaurant or movie enjoying themselves like they should have been.  Having Mew Mew Oui Oui'd her way around in every direction so as to convince as many people as possible how nuts she is, she went back inside.  If they thought she might be a crazy cat lady, here was proof!   Maybe a few thought she is a psychotic, not crazy, cat lady.

It made for a good laugh later and when we kitties had laughed ourselves out, I showed up, like nothing had happened.

There should be a TV show called "Humans Do the Darndest Things!" Oh, wait a minute, that's reality TV.

It is nice that we kitties can help enhance our human's reputation with the neighbours! ;)

Those are such silly stories. We do all that all the time. Isn't that what cats are supposed to do. Take care.

Admiral did that too, Mom said. It was horrible. Mom went everywhere looking for her IN the house and even the closets. She went outside looking but, thank Cod, just called her name. Hours later, she opened her large closet and Admiral hopped down. She had been up in there the entire time on the highest shelf in back, out of sight. GAH!

I answer to "kitty" or variations of "Quinn". Nothing as nutty as yours.

Mommy's still snickering.

You have a really good hiding place, and I won't squeal on you pal. I have a nutty human too - I think they are all that way.

Hee hee hee--Once I had my Human outside in our urban jungle, walking up and down the sidewalk looking under every parked car for blocks. Me, I was in our enclosed back porch, squeezed between the shelves and the wall, laffing my head off. She was even CRYING a little bit!!! That was a great day!

Mom has this very embarrassing trilling noise that she thinks mimics us that she uses when she calls us. Kids in the neighborhood will often mimic her. It gets her mad 'cause she wants us to come home or in and not follow some kid. We think "Mew, mew, Oui, Oui," sounds really funny.
