Sweet Dreams, Carl

CARLOS "CARL" RAPHAEL CAMARO
27 June 1997 - 28 August 2015

It's with great sadness we tell you of the loss of our sweet, dapper mancat, Carl.  Although he was 18, it seemed possible he would live for a long time yet, but he was destined to come in to the world with Julie and to leave it shortly after her.

Carl had just been to the vet's for his check up and had a full blood work up done.  No kidney disease, no liver disease, no imbalances of any kind.  Incredibly his results showed a purrfectly healthy cat, even his teeth were white and clean without tartar, a week later he was gone.

Last Friday morning he had problems walking and was falling over, having difficulty getting to his feet, unable to eat or even look up.  Looking into his eyes, the difference in the dilation of his pupils explained what happened.  He'd had a stroke overnight.

Carl and Julie as wee ones.

One of Carl's greatest pleasures was playing.

It really didn't matter what the toy was.

All kinds of banging came from the bathroom as he chased his tail and banked off the tub.
Oui Oui wonders if Carl has lost his mind!

Nothing feels better than airing your belly after making a really big mess.

Carl loved his boxes too!

Singing was another great pleasure!
He'd slip out of the house late at night
and rendezvous with Admiral Hestorb, Katie Isabella's
predecessor and giggle when they kept Katie's mom awake at night.

You can hear him singing here.
Such a tiny little voice!

He did a lot of traveling too!
Here he is with Moosey and friends in Paris.

All packed and ready to sail the high seas to Australia
with his friends from Da Tabbies O Trout Towne.

Unlike Julie, he didn't mind being dressed up
and enjoyed wearing his tie.

He was a pacifist and never fought with any cat,
not even a hiss when new kitties joined the family.

Running down stairs to breakfast was serious business.  So were product reviews.  Everything got a 4 paw rating and it was often was race with Julie to see who could eat the most.

Good bye, sweet boy!  So much was lost in this world when you left it, but there is the promise of seeing you again, and what a happy time that will be!  No doubt you are singing with the angels.  Til we met again!

Wake up!  It's time to eat!

Baby Love

Who could resist an adorable kitten?

The most squee-able event, Baby Love, is happening at the Tabby Cat Club and we just had to pawticipate!  So today we are showing off our baby pictures!

 First up is Oui Oui.

You can see her shaved little belly.
Even at 8 weeks they made sure she wouldn't add to overpopulation.
Either she was a messy eater or she ran through her kibble.

Both she and The Girl were kittens!

Julie and Carl are brother and sister, so of course they were kittens together too.

Julie was just as beautiful then too!

Mica Moo was 4 years old when she came to live with us.

These are the earliest pictures we have of her.
She looked like a young cat because she was underweight,
weighing a little over 7 lbs.
Now she is more like 13.

For more adorable kittens, go visit the Tabby Cat Club!
There's gonna be a whole lot of squeeing going on!

We'd also like to thank everyone for their kind purrs for the mom.  She is still whining and moaning, even with us doing the best we can to help her feel better.  Yesterday she went to the doctor's who told her it could be several more weeks before the swelling has gone away.  Boy did THAT make her moan!

We apologize for not visiting, by the time the mom gets home from work, she is in so much pain she doesn't feel like doing much and certainly couldn't think of snappy comments for everyone.  {{eye roll}}  She is still taking care of the ferals, but that will end next week since the lady she is covering for is out of the hospital.  This Sunday she hopes to trap the kitties who have all their God-given parts.  Thankfully The Girl will be coming home to help because the mom doesn't think she could do it on her own in her present condition.  We hope to have some good photos!

We'll be up to visiting soon.  We hope everyone has been well and having fun. Purrs and thanks to you all!

The Day After . . .

What a day our Gotcha Day was!  We want to thank all the kitties who  posted at the Tabby Cat Club and all the ones who commented here to help we raise money to improve the lives of the kitties at PAWS.  Because we wanted to give the maximum time to everyone, we will publish the results tomorrow.  Again, thanks every kitty!  You are pawsome!

Mancat Monday

Whew!
Thanks to everyone who came to our party!
What a blow out!
Thanks for all the good wishes too!

I'm just going to chilax on the favorite kitty pillow.

Julie is just hanging too,
and enjoying a scratching from the mom.

Tuesday Tabby T-Shirt Tale of Terror

Kitties, let me tell you about the mysterious Captain America Shirt.
You know when you have a bad feeling things aren't going to be good?
Well, things got off to a rocky start . . .

I was napping and could feel the strange pull as I awoke.

OMC!  Mica Moo don't go near those!
The mom let an uninspected package loose in the house!
Curse her!
Won't she EVER learn?

Get back while I do my job!
Yup, hexed in the mail.
Looks like some necromancer practiced his hoodoo on it.

Mica Moo!  For the love of tuna, stay away!

I'm going have to fight this powerful curse . . .   I can feel it taking over . . .

It's formidable and it's hidden in a pretty awesome nip pillow.

It's giving me the shakes, rattles and rolls.
Some kind of Obfuscatory Spell!
Any kitty near it starts to become indistinct.

 First my head . . .

 . . . then my tummy.

Finally the spell is broken!  And does this shirt ever smell good!  It's like the good smells of lots of kitty furriends.  Its enticing!

Oh, dear me!  The shirt is jinxed as well!  I'm SO embarrassed!  I'm a GIRL kitty and Captain America is a boy.  I've got to hide my face.
 I'm not coming out!

I don't need those kinds of problems.
Well, maybe I'll just help myself to the treats.

Oh Carl, do you have a minute?  We have something for you!

(Of course you saw what happened to Carl here.)
We want to thank our sweet furriends
for sending us this fun package,
the great toys, the totally pawsome nip pillow
that Oui Oui smacked the other kitties over when they got near it

and for the beautiful card!
It was so thoughtful and we enjoyed it all!

Let that be a lesson as to what can happen if the Box and Package Inspector General doesn't get a chance to do his or her job properly.  We are specially trained to handle this type of problem, so don't try this at home without the correct training or snoopervision.

So we'd like to know if any of our furriends would like to wear the shirt?  Oui Oui certifies it is completely safe and says she'll even add some of her favorite treats to go with it.  We know it's been around for a while but we bet there are a few that haven't had the pleasure yet.  Just let us know!  We ship anywhere.

We'd also like to thank the mom for her truly horrendous photography.  We were glad to be able to use it in a post - the blurriness, color shifts and all the other warts!  Believe us, none of the "special effects" were intentional!
